I’m Not 100% Sure If This Is for me but I’m Interested

I’ve always loved traveling. There never had been any question about that.

But what about a WFH Nomad lifestyle? That was something I had reservations on.

Here’s how it ended up working for me.

Step 1: Keep your current lease. Try WFH Nomad Lifestyle for 2-3 months

This idea might seem financially costly.

Ultimately, it’s very burdensome to decide whether or not you want to terminate a lease. These are big life decisions that you will have to make.

For me, this is exactly what I did. I kept my lease in San Francisco (yikes!!) and kept it empty for 3 months. (I could have subletted as an Airbnb with my roommates’s permission… although I’m not sure how much my landlord would have liked like…)

I paid about $400 per month for a nice place in Guadalajara. So in a way, I didn’t quite double-dip on rent, but I paid 1.5x as much as I should have.

For me, that experiment was incredibly worth it because after the experience, I knew that this lifestyle was for me.

Step 2: Was that Lifestyle a Good Fit for You?

For me – absolutely. I realized how much I love traveling, how much I love making friends from different countries, and how much I love immersing myself in a foreign culture. It’s made a profound impact on me, and, if this is the right lifestyle for you, I hope it can be as rewarding for you as it has been for me.
